Women's Refugee Commision

Women are being singled out. They are beaten, raped and tortured as they scavenge firewood to feed thier families. Can you imagine wanting to feed your hungry family, and while looking for firewood you are attacked and raped?
Can you imagine life being so uncertain you do not know from one moment to the next where you will lay your head at night? Will you live to see the sun rise, or see your child's face in the morning? The Women's Refugee Commision is using it's voice and voices like yours to draw attention to the plight of millions of refugees in the Gaza strip, Darfur and Zimbabwe. Go to the site and add your voice. Read the reports and add your tears to theirs. Watch this video and feel what life is like for these women as they look for firewood.

Powerful film clip. Where will all this end?

Great post again. It's so dreadful that rape is used as a weapon of war. Hopefully the women don't have to go out for water as well, because that's another favourite with the rapists.

Max, if I knew the answer I would shout it from the roof tops!

A. we both know that they do go out for water. Rape is a big tool that is being used. There have been many war children born to this unholiest of unions.
